Ferrari F360 Spider

Gloss Garage were called in to perform an emergency resuscitation to this Ferrari F360. It’s led a neglected life in its recent years of ownership.

As it turns out, the vehicle was brought to us by the previous owner, looking to restore what was once a cherished car back to its former glory.

This detail gave us the opportunity to show the level of care and attention to detail that we go to with every car.

The car had severe swirls and scratches over every inch of painted panel. Every panel needed to have a slightly different approach to the correction work as we aim to perform the least abrasive correction possible to the paint in order to leave the maximum amount of clearcoat behind. This process takes a bit longer, but it is a much safer approach and significantly reduces the risk of strikethrough.

As this car sees regular use, we sealed in all the good work with Final Inspection’s Full Metal Jacket Paint Protection, which will help to minimise the reintroduction of these faults.

After seeing the finished product, the previous owner was amazed at the turnaround. It completely blew away any expectations of how well it could be turned around. It impressed him so much, that he is now in discussions to buy back the vehicle!

Heavy swirls and scratches all over the vehicle. This is probably one of the least impacted areas on the car.

Rear lip and badge. Lots of water marks and trapped dirt. Ancient polish embedded in crevices.

A quick test patch on the bonnet to see how this might turn around. Looking promising.

Here is a 50/50 shot of the untouched drivers door against the completed first stage of correction on the rear quarter. Some minor holograms are present in the rear, which will be easy to remove in the following stage.

Looking sharp again. It's been a long time since it looked this good. This is the way a Ferrari should look.

The Spider has a common problem with the roof rubbing on the bodywork creating two very serious marks that run around the aero humps. The visual effect of these has been significantly reduced - the only way to properly correct them is to respray the panel. Even after the correction that we performed on the marks, they could still be felt by hand (a dead giveaway that they are truly deep).
